What is the brand and model number of the printer?ДЇor example, I have an HP Officejet 7210. Mostly that stuff is useless, although it might be helpful for some people. They invariably give you a disc with a bunch of junk on it, and one of the things is some kind of 'connection doctor' or something like that. That would be great because I miss my FAST 2GB RAM computer! lol He has a friend who used to have a business & gave us one of the computers/processors he had & also said that he might have a router we can use for a couple months.

The only problem I had was with installing the software for his printer on my computer, but I'll figure that out later.

And I didn't have to install the software, which you're right, I thought I had to do. You're right-piece of cake!! I unplugged his cords & modem & plugged it all into mine-and voila! I was online just like that. I did actually go with the alternative of setting up my computer. How easy/hard would it be to uninstall everything when I did move & took my computer w/me & hooked up Internet, etc in my own apt? Would that maybe be an option in this case? Or is that what a wireless router is for?

My ex & I used to have our computers set up on a network, I think it's called. And then we couldn't switch back & forth between our computers, mine would have to be the only one set up.right? Also, his computer has XP, mine has Vista. I have Norton AntiVirus on mine, my dad has McAfee (w/Comcast.) Wouldn't that screw things up if I tried to install the driver on my computer & the Internet, modem, router, all that? I'm starting to think it might be more of a pain that it's worth because it would only be for about 3 months. My computer hasn't been used or online in 3 months now. If I do decide to go that route, how would I do it? When I plug all his cords into my computer, would it recognize it & walk me thru from there? Really? I would think that setting up my computer would be a hassle.
